HELLO, DEAR FRIENDS AND FANS
It has been some time since I last sent a newsletter, but now my life is full of new activities I want to share with you. . Meanwhile autumn has arrived, it’s about time to sit in front of your screen and watch the brand-new documentary about my certainly never dull life. I even dare to tell you I just turned 82 and am still happily married to my darling husband and best cook (by the way), Philip, who also runs our fun and centrally located bed and breakfast called Xaviera’s Happy House, situated in Amsterdam’s Gold Coast.
NEW DOCUMENTARY
On Thursday, August 21, a new documentary was broadcast on BNN-VARA TV. It shows not only my present life but also the sad beginning of my life when I was still a toddler, born in Indonesia.

Perhaps you have already seen this incredibly emotional film about life and death and the start of my career as Madame Xaviera Hollander, The Happy Hooker.
The movie was an instant success. Major newspapers published stories about it, and dozens of fans approached me to buy some of my favorite books, such as The Happy Hooker, Child No More, or Supersex. Often they ordered not just one but up to four books.
UPCOMING SHOW
Now we move on to stage two of my hectic life: I am producing a hilarious and sexy one-woman show at the famous Orange Church in Amsterdam on Friday, October 24, from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
The show is called Naked at My Age, performed by the fabulous and funny American actress Charla Hathaway. It is extremely naughty yet realistic.
Theatre capacity: 300 seats
Entrance fee: €30 per person

A LIFE FULL OF ADVENTURE
Do take the time to watch the documentary about my life. It shows how, after a traumatic start in a Japanese concentration camp in Indonesia—where the infamous Tjideng commandant Sonei almost killed my mother—I still managed to live a rich, enjoyable, and adventurous life.

A NOTE FROM MIRKO & ANKE
Dear Xaviera,
We saw your documentary on NPO yesterday. We thought it was very good and honest. The ending was beautiful: in the film clip you chose, you take off your dress, throw it towards the camera, and run naked after the others into the party inside the house—a film clip from your youth.
Entirely in keeping with the spirit of the times, the documentary mentions sexuality but does not show it. This gives the story a calm and dignified progression. Eros and Thanatos.
Thanatos is shown in all its depth and drama in the clip about the Japanese camp. Seen in this light, I believe you have gotten everything out of life, and that gives those who understand it the strength to put their own lives into perspective.
There is enormous organizational drive and skill in your life, but where that comes from and how you translate it into your environment time and again is something I did not get from the documentary. But that doesn’t matter, because I have known you since I was 17 (almost 50 years now), and I perhaps see a little more and know a little more than the average viewer.
The documentary shows you in good times and bad, and I enjoyed that.
